First day of school: the photo and the classroom
The first day of school has two sides: the photo at home and the classroom waiting at the end of the walk. We make something for both.

| Where | What | Why | Shelf |
|---|---|---|---|
| At home | First & Last Day sign | Front for September, back for June | Classroom Decor & Organizers |
| On the boards | Bright borders | Bold rainbow scallops | Classroom Decor & Organizers |
| Reading corner | Pastel or boho borders | Calmer palettes | Classroom Decor & Organizers |
| Teacher's desk | Pencil dispenser | One pencil per press | Classroom Decor & Organizers |
Write the sign the night before
Chalk markers give the brightest letters. Fill in the name, grade, teacher and one wish, and leave it by the door with the backpack.
Borders go up last
Pin the background paper first, then run the scalloped border around the edge using the glue dots. Each roll covers several boards.
Fill the dispenser to two thirds
It holds about 200 pencils, but a lighter load drops more smoothly. Use the inside buttons to choose how many come out per press.
